Hello Everyone, and welcome back to Blogmas Day 15! So we’re basically half way through December and I’m really not sure how I’m feeling about that. Like I am so ready for Christmas, but I think the best part is the run up, and build up to the festivities. Light switch-on’s, Christmas shopping, everything.
Today, I thought I would give you a little update of my ‘Festive To-Do’s’! Now I’m like a huge ambassador for all things Christmas (I’m currently sat in elf pyjamas whilst writing this), so it’s only fair to complete all things on a Christmas bucket list. Without further ado, lets get down to business (to defeaaat the Huns).
- Decorate a Christmas tree!
This year, I’ve had the pleasure of decorating two trees, one at Nathan’s dad’s house, and then one at my house. I have to be honest, I’m not too great at decorating trees (no matter how much I want to deny it). Decorating a tree just isn’t my niche.
- Make the best hot chocolate
So, it’s winter, it’s cold and chilly. You want to be warm and toasty so what better way to do this, than sipping on a nice hot cocoa! Make it an extra tasty treat, with squirty cream, marshmallows and a sprinkle of chocolate powder. You just can’t go wrong. I’ve made quite a few hot chocolates, but I’ve got a good recipe up my sleeve, which I’m saving for Christmas Eve!
- Go on wintery walks
Sometimes the hubbub and stress of Christmas can take it’s toll, and sometimes just being cooped up in the house for so long can be boring. So I try and just go out for a walk when I can! I recently had a super snowy, which you can read about here. Wintery walks are the best, they get you out in the fresh air and you come back with a clear head! Sometime’s it’s all you need.
- Binge watch every Christmas movie to ever exist
I am making it my goal to watch 12 movies this month, now to some people thats nothing. But considering I don’t really watch TV, thats a lot. So I have the 12 days of Christmas movies which I can watch every other day, or I can binge watch four every weekend… I mean whatever floats my boat! So far I’ve watched 3, ELF, Arthur Christmas and The Nativity… looks like I’ve got a lot of binging to do!
- Make Gingerbread/Christmas cookies!
So last year, I tried to make Christmas biscuits. *spoilers* It was awful. I failed epically. This year, I want to try and make some decent tray bakes or cookies. Without people breaking their teeth on them… I attempted some gingerbread biscuits yesterday, my mum’s verdict “You could break your teeth on those Kelsey”. My dad’s verdict “I really like these, I’m gonna dunk it in my tea”. So I mean, it went both ways. 10/10 won’t attempt again.
- Enjoy myself!
Finally, this one is quite an important one. I want to enjoy myself and be happy. (I’m positive anyway) I just want everyone around me to have a good time, and be in good company. That’s what Christmas is all about! Currently, I am really enjoying myself, which is great. Keep updated to see how this goes!
Do you have any festive to-do’s?
