Hello Everybody! I hope you’re having a magical week!
I thought that todays blog-post should be all about self-care, and looking after you, your body and your mind. Especially with exams and deadlines looming, it is more than important to keep that stress to a minimum.
Soooo I thought i’d be a nice human and post a few tips that help me unwind and destress, ready for a great week.
I like to use the weekend to prepare myself for the week ahead, which I do by having Saturday as my ‘get sh*t done’ day, and then Sunday acts as my wind down day.
I usually start my weekend with some exercise, whether it be the local park run or pilates, I feel like it is a really good way to wake myself up for a productive weekend. After I’ve done some exercise, I grab some breakfast, this could be anything from a small cooked breakfast, to a croissant with fresh fruit. Then I proceed to get things done, so any emails, assignments or work that I have to do for the upcoming week. I also plan out blog posts and any youtube videos as well.
By the time I’ve completed what I wanted to, its around mid-afternoon. So then I start a really long pamper session, where I can take my time with everythingggg. I start off with a hot bath, using a LUSH bath bomb and maybe a bubble bar – depending how I’m feeling. Whilst I’m in the bath I like to put on a face mask, the one I’m currently using is The Body Shop Tea Tree mask which leaves my skin feeling so soft and refreshed, and it makes a difference to any blemishes/spots. I don’t know how, but it makes them less apparent, which is what everybody wants.
After the bath, I moisturise, always. It leaves your skin so silky-smooth and smelling amazing, yes it takes a lot of effort, but it’s so worth it. I like to use the NSpa raspberry body butter because it smells incredible, just like raspberry maoams (the sweets). It also leaves your skin feeling really moisturised, I mean, thats its job…
Once the moisturiser has soaked in, I love to make sure I’ve got clean pyjamas andfresh, crisp bedding. There is nothing better in the world, than climbing into a cold bed and snuggling into the duvet! Its even better if I get
myself a hot drink, so I can snuggle into bed with a good book, and my dog.
I really like getting into bed half an hour before I plan on sleeping, because then I have the chance to wind down by reading a book and relaxing.
To top it all off, I like to make sure that I get a good amount of sleep, so anything over 8 hours and I am all good to go.
Let me know what you do to pamper yourself/prepare for the week ahead!
Have a fab week,
